Project Summary
Asia Digital Engineering (ADE), the engineering division of AirAsia, wants to create a signature space that reflects its aviation DNA and forward-thinking engineering culture. The brief called for a bold, immersive entrance that communicates innovation, precision, and the technical spirit of aircraft maintenance. KHD translated these goals into a high-impact environment that merges brand identity, engineering aesthetics, and functional design into a cohesive experience.
Design Concept
The design draws inspiration from the internal architecture of an aircraft engine, where aerodynamics, structure, and precision come together seamlessly. The feature engine model becomes the centrepiece of the space - a sculptural representation of ADE's core expertise. Curved ACP panels wrap across the walls and ceiling to form a dynamic, aerodynamic tunnel, enhanced by continuous linear lighting that mimics runway guidance lines and airflow paths. The use of ADE's bold blue brand colour completes the visual narrative, creating a sleek, futuristic environment that feels like stepping into the heart of an aircraft system.
Functionality & Usability
Beyond visual impact, the space is designed to guide movement intuitively and strengthen brand experience. The aerodynamic lighting lines naturally lead visitors through the entrance, creating clarity and flow. Durable ACP cladding and engineered finishes support long-term use in a high-traffic technical environment, while the clean, streamlined geometry reduces visual clutter and enhances comfort. Together, the elements create an inspiring and functional space that elevates staff pride, visitor experience, and ADE's identity as a leader in aviation engineering.
