Rilsan® Polyamide 11 Coating Service

Rilsan® Polyamide 11 Coating Service

Durable. Eco-Efficient. Corrosion-Resistant.

Our Rilsan® Polyamide 11 coating service delivers a superior protective layer for metal components through Arkema-certified electrostatic spraying and dip coating techniques. Using Rilsan® Fine Powders, a high-performance thermoplastic derived from castor oil, we provide long-lasting coatings that combine strength, flexibility, and outstanding resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and impact.

Why Choose Rilsan® Coating

Rilsan® coatings are renowned for their exceptional durability and environmental sustainability. Key performance advantages include:

  • Superior corrosion resistance – withstanding salt water and aggressive chemicals.

  • Excellent abrasion and impact strength – ideal for parts exposed to mechanical wear.

  • Outstanding weatherability – proven adhesion and appearance even after years of outdoor exposure.

  • Self-extinguishing and non-toxic – compliant with strict environmental and safety standards.

  • Smooth, aesthetic finish – available in various colors and gloss levels.

Applications

Rilsan® Polyamide coatings are ideal for:

  • Industrial piping, valves, and fittings

  • Automotive and mechanical components

  • Marine and offshore structures

  • Food-grade and potable water equipment

  • Wire baskets, racks, and architectural metalwork

Our Coating Process

Our coating process follows Arkema’s official Electrostatic Spraying Guidelines to ensure optimal adhesion, uniformity, and finish quality:

  1. Surface Preparation

    • Grit blasting to SA 2.5/3 (ISO 8501-01) using angular steel grit or corundum.

    • Achieved roughness: Rz 35–45 µm for electrostatic spray.

    • Surfaces are coated or primed within 8 hours of blasting to prevent oxidation.

  2. Priming

    • Use of Rilprim® P23V40 (solvent-based) or Primgreen® LAT 12035 (low-VOC, water-based) primers for optimal adhesion, even under continuous hot water exposure up to 70°C.

  3. Electrostatic Spraying

    • Positive or negative corona charge systems with controlled parameters (+/-35–45 kV, 10–30 µA).

    • Coating thickness: 100–150 µm per layer, ensuring smooth, defect-free deposition.

    • Automated or manual application using SAMES, GEMA, WAGNER, or NORDSON equipment.

  4. Fusion & Cooling

    • Fusion at 215 ± 5°C for 2 × metal thickness + 4 minutes, achieving excellent bonding and surface finish.

    • Controlled air cooling to prevent defects and preserve coating integrity.
