Sheer Curtain Care & Cleaning Tips

Sheer Curtain Care & Cleaning Tips

Sheer curtains add elegance and softness to any room. But due to their delicate fabric, they require proper care to stay clean and last longer.

This may contain: white curtains hanging on the side of a window

1. Use Gentle Detergent

This may contain: a person is holding a baby bottle in their left hand and the other hand is opening it up

Wash with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can damage or fade the fabric.

2. Wash Separately

This may contain: a washer and dryer sitting next to each other in a room

Always wash sheer curtains separately from heavier curtains like blackouts to avoid snagging or tearing.

3. Avoid Tumble Drying

Air dry only – never use a dryer. Hang them directly to dry; this also helps reduce wrinkles.

4. Low Iron if Needed

If ironing is needed, use the lowest heat setting (or silk mode). Or lightly spray water and hang – wrinkles will naturally fall out.

5. Clean Every 1–3 Months

Sheers collect dust easily. Wash them every 1 to 3 months to keep them looking fresh and neat.
