Contents:

• Each 5 /ml contains 250 /mg cefuroxime (as cefuroxime axetil, equivalent to ~300 /mg cefuroxime axetil), along with excipients including 0.045 /g aspartame (E951), 2.3 /g sucrose, and 4.6 /mg benzyl alcohol (E1519).

Indications:

• Indicated in adults and children aged from 3 months and older, for infections such as:
  • acute streptococcal tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis
  • acute otitis media
  • acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and lower respiratory infections
  • urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis)
  • uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections (e.g. impetigo, furunculosis)
  • early Lyme disease.

Instructions (Dosage & Administration):

• Course duration: typically 7 /days, can range from 5 to 10 /days.
• Adults and children ≥ /40 /kg:
  • 250 /mg twice daily for infections like tonsillitis, sinusitis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, skin infections
  • 500 /mg twice daily for otitis media, acute bronchitis exacerbations or Lyme disease (for Lyme, continue for 14 /days; range up to 21 /days).
• Children under 40 /kg (3 /months to 12+ years):
  • For most infections: 10 /mg/kg twice daily (max 125 /mg twice daily)
  • For otitis media or serious infections: 15 /mg/kg twice daily (max 250 /mg twice daily)
  • Lyme disease: 15 /mg/kg twice daily for ~14 /days (10–21 /days).
• Administration tips:
  • Take with food (after meals) to improve absorption
  • Shake suspension well before measuring with a dosing spoon or syringe
  • Not recommended for use in children under 3 /months of age
