Homogeneous reconstituted timber (HRT) is an engineered wood product created by breaking down natural timber into small elements such as fibres, strands, or particles, then re-bonding them with resin to form boards or structural sections with uniform properties throughout. Unlike solid timber, which varies due to grain direction, knots, and growth rings, HRT offers consistent strength, stability, and performance across every piece.

How Homogeneous Reconstituted Timber Is Made

• Timber is reduced into fibres, strands, or particles.
• The material is mixed with high-performance adhesives, commonly phenolic or polyurethane resins.
• The mixture is pressed under controlled heat and pressure to form boards or structural sections.

Common Types of Reconstituted Timber

• MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard): Highly uniform and smooth, typically used for non-structural applications.
