Also known as Aayu Stewart (Heritage Series) due to its proximity to Aayu Stewart on Stewart Lane, Aayu Heritage has its own unique character that sets it apart from our other guesthouses. Beautifully and intricately decorated with traditional fittings and motifs, the building itself is of “Southern Chinese Eclectic Style”, built typically around the 1840s and 1900s.
It is often characterized by its wooden louvered shutters windows on the first floor (as seen in the family room) and its Chinese ceramic air vents. Other additions that are typical to the later styles of a Penang Heritage Home include Majolica ceramic wall tiles on dado facade as well as geometric pattern cement floor tiles.
Common lounge area equipped with sofa, dining table and a small kitchenette for simple food preparation.
