Vastarel XR 80 /mg is indicated for:
Symptomatic treatment of stable angina pectoris (chronic chest pain due to reduced blood supply to the heart),
as an adjunct (add-on) therapy in adult patients who are:
Not adequately controlled by first-line anti-anginal drugs (e.g., beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers), or
Unable to tolerate first-line therapies.
It is not indicated for treating acute angina attacks or heart attacks.
1 capsule (80 /mg) once daily
Take it in the morning, preferably with breakfast
Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water
Do not:
Crush
Chew
Break
Open the capsule
It is a prolonged-release formulation, designed to release the medicine slowly over time.
Treatment effectiveness should be reassessed after 3 months
If there is no improvement in symptoms, treatment should be discontinued
