| About the Program | About the International Foundation Program: The International Foundation Program is a non-degree preparatory program for international students offered by the School of Lifelong Education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Tailored to the specific needs of international students, the program allows them to enhance their language, professional, and cross-cultural communication skills, laying a solid foundation for future university studies. Students who pass the official assessment will be given priority for admission to Shanghai Jiao Tong University's undergraduate program. The International Foundation Program includes: Program A , which lasts one year and is designed for international students with a strong Chinese language foundation (HSK 4 ≥ 180 or equivalent) who need to further improve their Chinese, English, and mathematics. Program B, which lasts 1.5 years, is designed for international students with a weak Chinese language foundation (HSK 3 ≥ 180 or equivalent) who need to further improve their Chinese, English, and mathematics. Project C is for international students who have a basic understanding of English (TOEFL score ≥ 80, IELTS score ≥ 5.5 or equivalent) and need to further improve their English, mathematics and other subjects. This program is taught in English and has a one-year duration. The above three types of projects are all set up in three directions: science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and humanities and social sciences according to the needs of further studies. |

| Application Materials | Applicants must ensure that the application materials and information provided are true, accurate, and complete. Any inaccuracies found to be false will result in the revocation of application, admission, or program eligibility. 1. Proof of high school graduation or equivalent. Recent graduates may provide a pre-graduation certificate from their current high school. 2. A brief high school profile in Chinese or English (including information on the school, admission requirements, admissions status, curriculum, grading system, and further study history). 3. Passport information page (valid for at least 6 months) and a color, bareheaded photo. 4. Personal statement (600-1000 words) in Chinese or English (signed by the applicant, including but not limited to personal background, interests, strengths, reasons for applying, and study plan). 5. One letter of recommendation (600-1000 words) in Chinese or English (the recommender must sign and provide contact information, including email and phone number). 6. Proof of Academic Achievement: 6.1 Transcripts from your current high school (covering all high school courses). Recent graduates must provide transcripts of all high school courses taken. 6.2 SAT/ACT/A-Level/UEC/IB scores. If these scores are unavailable, scores from the national or regional unified high school graduation exam or university entrance exam must be provided. If you are unable to provide these documents at the time of application, you must provide an explanation of the circumstances. 7. Proof of Language Proficiency 7.1 For Program A (1-year program), you must provide an HSK score (HSK Level 4 ≥ 180) or equivalent. Applicants for Program A (0.5-year program) must submit an HSK score (HSK Level 5 ≥ 200, with ≥ 60 in the writing section) or equivalent. 7.2 Applicants for Program B (1.5-year program) must submit an HSK score (HSK Level 3 ≥ 180) or equivalent, TOEFL score (total score ≥ 70), IELTS score (total score ≥ 5), or equivalent. 7.3 Applicants for Program C (1-year program) must submit a TOEFL score (total score ≥ 80), IELTS score (total score ≥ 5.5), or a statement of native English speaking experience, with at least two years of study in English. Applicants for Program C (0.5-year program) must submit a TOEFL score (total score ≥ 90), IELTS score (total score ≥ 6), or a statement of native English speaking experience, with at least two years of study in English. 8. | Admission | 1. Admission to the International Foundation Program is based on a comprehensive assessment of the student's performance.
