Protos Reserva 5º Año is an exceptional expression of old-vine Tempranillo, aged meticulously over five years. It represents the art of blending structure, depth, and patience—delivered with finesse and distinction.

Appearance

Deep garnet with a ruby rim. Bright and clear, showing signs of maturity and careful aging.

Nose (Aroma)

Elegant and complex. Aromas of ripe blackberries, plum compote, and black cherry lead the way, followed by layers of tobacco, cedar, cocoa powder, and well-integrated vanilla and spice from French oak. Subtle hints of licorice, balsamic herbs, and smoky minerals emerge with aeration.

Palate

Full-bodied and structured, yet silky.

The entry is rich with dark fruit and evolves into savory and spicy notes—clove, toasted oak, mocha. Balanced acidity keeps it fresh, while fine-grained tannins provide grip and ageability. Long, persistent finish with lingering echoes of spice, smoke, and sweet tobacco.
