Contents (per 5 /ml)

• Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 15 /mg – central cough suppressant
• Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 /mg – nasal decongestant
• Promethazine hydrochloride 3.125 /mg – antihistamine with sedative effect
• Includes parabens 0.125% /w/v as preservative; cherry–flavored syrup

• Used for relief of dry, irritating coughs, particularly with upper respiratory tract infections or the common cold
• Helps alleviate nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose associated with allergies or colds

• Adults and children ≥ /12 /years: 10 /ml every 6 hours
• Children 6–12 /years: 5 /ml every 6 hours
• Children 2–5 /years: 2.5 /ml every 6 hours
• Not for children <2 /years due to risk of respiratory depression with promethazine
   

• Shake well before use

• Measure dose accurately with measuring spoon or syringe

• Sip slowly, preferably undiluted

• May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery

• Avoid alcohol while on this medication

• Use with care in patients with epilepsy, glaucoma, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, GI obstruction, prostatic hypertrophy, or hepatic impairment

• If symptoms persist beyond 7 days or worsen (e.g. fever, rash), consult a physician
