Traditional Chinese Medicine Can Save Lives — this has been one of the key messages I have been advocating over the past few years.
TCM can save lives, and sometimes, it can even create what feels like a miracle.
A construction worker unfortunately suffered a workplace injury — a left distal radius fracture, presenting with the classic “dinner fork” deformity, accompanied by crepitus and significant swelling.
After reviewing the X-ray and discussing the options with the patient, we reached a mutual decision to proceed with traditional TCM manual reduction followed by cast immobilization.
The patient did not have to endure excessive suffering.
In TCM, fracture reduction and joint dislocation reduction are typically performed without anesthesia, because the procedure is usually completed within about one minute. In many cases, before the pain fully registers, the treatment is already over — which is why anesthesia is often unnecessary.
Moreover, under local regulations in Malaysia, TCM practitioners are not permitted to perform injections or IV drips, so treatment must rely on precise skill, experience, and speed.
Everyone has something they love to collect.
As for me, my personal “collection” is preserving and organizing the records of every fracture case I have treated.
Ten thousand fracture and dislocation stories — each one unique — is no longer just a dream, but something within reach.
Today, the friend who drove him here was dressed in bright red and wearing a Santa scarf π§£.
I smiled and told him,
“You really look like Santa Claus π

With Christmas just around the corner,
wishing both of you peace and safety. π
