Instructions for Use
Power Supply:
- Connect the 3.3V supply to the VCC pins and ensure it is within the specified range (3.3V ± 10%).
- Connect the GND pins to a common ground.
Ethernet Ports:
- Connect the 5 Ethernet ports (1x MII, 4x PHY) to your network devices.
- Ensure that the cables used support 10/100 Mbps data rates.
Configuration:
- Use the MDIO interface to configure the switch settings via a management controller.
- Configure VLANs, QoS, and other features as needed using the provided register map and configuration software.
LED Control:
- Use the LED control registers to configure the status LEDs for each port.
Auto-Negotiation:
- The switch will automatically negotiate the best possible connection speed and duplex mode with connected devices.
Auto-MDI/MDIX:
- The switch will automatically detect and configure the correct cable type (straight or crossover).
Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE):
- Enable EEE to reduce power consumption during periods of low data activity.
Jumbo Frames:
- Enable jumbo frame support if your network devices support frames larger than 1500 bytes.
Wake-on-LAN (WoL):
- Configure WoL settings to allow remote wake-up of connected devices.
Mounting:
- Solder the QFN package to the PCB following the recommended thermal and mechanical guidelines.
- Ensure proper heat dissipation to maintain operating temperature within the specified range.
Testing:
- After installation, test the switch to ensure all ports are functioning correctly and that the configured settings are applied.
Compliance:
- Ensure that the final product complies with relevant certifications (CE, FCC, RoHS) before deployment.
