Instructions for Using CD4060:

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect VCC to the positive supply voltage (3V to 18V).
    • Connect GND to the ground.
  2. Oscillator Configuration:

    • Connect a capacitor (C1) between pins 9 and 10.
    • Connect a resistor (R1) between pin 10 and 11.
    • Connect another capacitor (C2) between pin 11 and ground.
    • The frequency of the oscillator can be calculated using the formula: [ f = frac{2.3 times R1 times C1} ]
  3. Output Selection:

    • The CD4060 has 14 outputs (Q4 to Q13) which provide binary counts from 24 to 213.
    • Use the appropriate output based on the desired count.
  4. Reset Function:

    • Pin 12 is the reset input. Connect it to VCC through a pull-up resistor to keep the counter running.
    • To reset the counter, connect this pin to ground.
  5. Clock Inhibit:

    • Connect it to ground to stop the oscillator.
  6. Output Load:

    • Ensure that the load connected to the output does not exceed the maximum output current ratings.
