Instructions for 74LS192P
Power Supply:
- Connect VCC to +5V and GND to 0V.
- Ensure the supply voltage is within the specified range (4.75V to 5.25V) to avoid damage.
Pin Configuration:
- Pin 1 (MR): Active low master reset input. When MR is low, the counter resets to 0000.
- Pin 2 (CPu): Up-count pulse input. A rising edge on CPu increments the count.
- Pin 3 (CPd): Down-count pulse input. A rising edge on CPd decrements the count.
- Pin 4 (Q3): Most significant bit output.
- Pin 5 (Q2): Second most significant bit output.
- Pin 6 (Q1): Third most significant bit output.
- Pin 7 (Q0): Least significant bit output.
- Pin 8 (GND): Ground.
- Pin 9 (BO): Borrow output. Active low when the count reaches 0000.
- Pin 10 (CO): Carry output. Active high when the count reaches 1001.
- Pin 11 (LD): Load enable input. When LD is low, the data on the D0-D3 inputs is loaded into the counter.
- Pin 12 (D3): Most significant bit data input.
- Pin 13 (D2): Second most significant bit data input.
- Pin 14 (D1): Third most significant bit data input.
- Pin 15 (D0): Least significant bit data input.
- Pin 16 (VCC): Positive supply voltage.
Operation:
- To increment the counter, apply a rising edge to CPu.
- To decrement the counter, apply a rising edge to CPd.
- To reset the counter to 0000, set MR to low.
- To load a specific value into the counter, set LD to low and apply the desired values to D0-D3.
Propagation Delay:
- The propagation delay time (tp) is the time it takes for a change in the input to affect the output. It typically ranges from 12 to 34 nanoseconds.
Temperature Range:
- The device operates reliably within the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Store the device between -65°C and 150°C.
Handling:
- Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal circuits. Use proper ESD protection practices.
Storage:
- Store the device in a dry, cool place to prevent moisture damage.
