Instructions for Use
Input Connection:
- Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the positive terminal of the power supply.
- Ensure the input voltage is within the operating range of 4.5V to 28V.
Output Configuration:
- Adjust the output voltage (VOUT) using an external resistor divider network connected to the FB (feedback) pin.
- The output voltage can be set from 0.9V to VIN - 0.6V.
Output Load:
- The MB10S can provide up to 3A of continuous output current.
- Ensure the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overcurrent protection triggering.
Thermal Management:
- The device has built-in thermal shutdown to protect against overheating.
- For high current applications, ensure adequate heat dissipation by mounting the device on a heatsink or PCB with good thermal conductivity.
Shutdown Mode:
- To put the device into shutdown mode, pull the EN (enable) pin low.
- In shutdown mode, the quiescent current drops to less than 1μA.
PCB Layout:
- Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the device to minimize parasitic inductance.
- Use wide traces for the input and output paths to reduce resistance and improve performance.
Protection:
- The MB10S includes overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown to safeguard against short circuits and excessive temperature.
- Ensure the input voltage and load are within the specified limits to avoid triggering these protections.
Storage and Handling:
- Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
- Handle the device with care to avoid static damage; use ESD protection where necessary.
