PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Weatherbond® Quartz is a premium, pure acrylic-based exterior paint specially formulated with advanced Quartz Technology to provide long-lasting protection for exterior walls against harsh tropical weather. This technology creates a hard and tough paint film that offers exceptional resistance to rainwater, UV radiation, and dirt penetration. Its chemically inert nature provides superior resistance against substrate alkalinity and acidic atmospheric impacts. Enhanced with Colour Care Technology, it ensures a richer and more vibrant color appearance that stays fresh for years. Additionally, its Sunblock Technology helps reduce surface temperatures, keeping the interior of the building cooler.

Application Instructions

• Application Method: Apply using a high-quality Brush or Roller.

• Dilution: Use as supplied for optimum results. If necessary, dilute with no more than 5% water to improve workability.

• Cleaning: Clean all painting equipment with clean water immediately after use.

• Note: Ensure the surface is properly prepared and dry before application to achieve the best finish and durability.

Recommended Coating System

• Sealer/Primer (1 Coat): 8100 Weatherbond Sealer / 5100 Wall Sealer / 8000 Advance Wall Sealer / Expresskote Sealer / Acrylic 5170 Wall Sealer. For powdery or skim-coated surfaces, use Hi-Bond Wall Sealer.

• Topcoat (2 Coats): Weatherbond Quartz.

Surface Preparation

• General Cleaning: Surface must be dry, clean, and free from grease, oil, dust, and loose matter.

• Defect Removal: Remove all loose or defective paint and powdery residues by scraping or high-pressure water jetting.

• Biological Treatment: Treat areas affected by fungus or algae growth with a suitable fungicidal wash solution.

• Repair: Fill cracks and uneven surfaces with suitable exterior-grade fillers (such as Nippon CrackREPAIR 1000) and sand until smooth.

• Moisture & Alkalinity: Ensure wall moisture content is below 16% (protimeter) and alkalinity is below pH 9 before application. New walls should be allowed to cure for at least 28 days.
• Spot Priming: Spot prime any repaired or bare areas with a Nippon Exterior Wall Sealer.
