Energy Efficient Airflow | Precision Power Management

In the tropical climate of Malaysia, HVAC systems typically account for 50% to 70% of a commercial building's total electricity consumption. Achieving energy-efficient airflow is no longer just a "green" goal—it is a financial and legal necessity under the 2026 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (EECA).

At EKG M&E, we focus on the "Physics of Airflow." By optimizing how air moves through your ducts and coils, we reduce the load on your fans and chillers while maintaining the mandatory fresh air rates of 10 l/s per person required by DOSH 2026.

1. The Cube Law of Power Optimization

The single most powerful tool in energy-efficient airflow is the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). To understand why, we look at the mechanical "Cube Law" which governs fan performance:

By moving away from "fixed-speed" motors to VFD-controlled modulation, we ensure your building only uses the exact amount of energy needed at any given second.

2. Demand-Controlled Ventilation (DCV)

Energy is often wasted by over-ventilating empty spaces. We implement Smart DCV to "breathe" with the building:

3. Reducing System Resistance (Static Pressure)

A fan has to work harder if the "path of least resistance" is blocked. We optimize the physical airflow path to lower the "Total Static Pressure" (TSP):

4. Mechanical Health: FFT Vibration Diagnostics

An inefficient fan is often a vibrating fan. To ensure your energy-saving measures aren't undermined by mechanical drag, we utilize Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Analysis:
