Bridge the gap between your portable digital devices and your workstation with the Legacy Pro Series. This 1.8-meter FireWire 1394a cable features a 6-Pin Male connector on one end and a 4-Pin Male connector on the other. It is the definitive solution for capturing high-quality video from DV camcorders or connecting specialized portable peripherals to your computer's FireWire 400 port.
Seamless Video Capture: Enables the transfer of high-definition DV and MiniDV footage from camcorders directly to your editing software with zero frame loss.
High-Speed Data Sync: Supports the FireWire 400 specification with stable data transfer rates up to 400 Mbps.
Superior Triple Shielding: Engineered with high-density braiding and foil shielding to protect your audio and video signals from EMI/RFI interference.
Precision Interface Matching: Connects the smaller unpowered 4-pin "i.LINK" ports (common on cameras) to the larger powered 6-pin ports found on computers and hubs.
DV Camcorder Transfer: The standard cable for "capturing" tapes from Sony, Panasonic, and Canon camcorders to a PC or Mac.
Portable Audio Gear: Connect mobile FireWire audio interfaces that utilize the compact 4-pin input.
External Storage: Access specialized legacy external hard drives that feature the 4-pin FireWire 400 interface.
Legacy PC/Mac Support: Ideal for connecting peripherals to older iMacs, PowerMacs, or PC FireWire expansion cards.
Universal 4-Pin & 6-Pin Male: Features the standard interfaces for IEEE 1394a communication.
Gold-Plated Contacts: Ensures maximum signal conductivity and provides long-term resistance to corrosion.
Durable PVC Jacket: A flexible, rugged outer casing that protects the internal twisted-pair data lines from stress.
Fully Molded Strain Relief: Reinforced connector boots prevent internal wire fatigue during frequent setup and teardown.

1. Does this cable provide power to my camera? No. While the 6-pin end can carry power, the 4-pin end does not. This is why camcorders (which use the 4-pin port) usually require their own battery or AC adapter to be plugged in during use.
2. Is this compatible with "i.LINK"? Yes! i.LINK is simply Sony's brand name for the IEEE 1394 4-pin interface. This cable is 100% compatible with all i.LINK equipped camcorders and devices.
3. Will this work with a modern USB-C port? Not directly. To connect this to a modern computer with only USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 ports, you will need multiple adapters (FireWire to Thunderbolt 2, and Thunderbolt 2 to 3/4).
