Description
KTH 785M BLACK OXIDE PRIMER is a single component high build alkyd solvent-based primer. It is economical and has a fast drying time, thus most suitable for general purpose steel structural work. It gives low gloss finishing to painted surfaces. A suitable top-coat should be painted to enhance the performance of the primer.
Uses
As a primer in a multi-coat coating system. Most suitable for use on steel, GI, and other surfaces. Main for general industrial steel painting.
Surface Preparation
- Wood: The wood surface must be dry and clean from dirt, grease, defective, and poorly adhering material. Smoothen the surfaces with sandpaper and clean the surface before applying the primer.
- Metal: The metal surface must be dry and clean from dirt, grease, and poorly adhering material. Smoothen the surface with sandpaper or metal brush to remove the rust. Clean the surface after smoothening.
- Old paint surface: Clean all old paint or peeled paint. The surface must be dry and free from grease, rust dust, and other poorly adhering material.
Preparation
- This product is ready to use often stir thoroughly
- However, if thinning is required, not more than 10% KTH Thinner 457 may be added
