The project included a new kitchen cabinet, TV cabinet, wardrobes for all rooms, and a study room workstation cabinet. The design concept for Orchardville focuses on a clean, family-friendly and storage-driven interior. The home uses light wood textures and white panels to keep the space bright and comfortable, while darker accents were applied to selected cabinet areas to create visual contrast.
The kitchen was designed to maximise storage and cooking efficiency within the available layout. The tall unit creates a clean built-in look for the oven and vertical storage, while the sintered stone countertop provides a durable surface for daily food preparation.
For the TV cabinet, the client required more storage without making the living area feel heavy. We designed a long, clean TV cabinet with display shelving and hidden storage. Importantly, the base cabinet corners were designed with a curved edge to reduce the risk of children getting injured from accidental knocks.
For the wardrobes, different systems were used based on each room’s layout and usage. Some rooms used casement swing-door wardrobes, while other areas used aluminium glass sliding-door wardrobes to save space and create a more premium look.
The study room workstation cabinet was designed with overhead storage, open display niches and a practical desktop area, making it suitable for work, study and household organisation.
The first challenge was storage planning. The client needed more storage throughout the home, but the design could not look crowded or heavy.
The second challenge was safety. Since the TV cabinet is located in an active family area, sharp cabinet corners could create risk for children.
The third challenge was consistency. The kitchen cabinet, TV cabinet, wardrobes and study cabinet all serve different functions, but they still needed to look like one coordinated interior design concept.
The fourth challenge was space efficiency. Different rooms required different wardrobe solutions, so one standard wardrobe design would not be suitable for the full house.
We used a consistent material palette of white panels, light wood texture, black accents and glass details to connect the whole home visually.
For the kitchen, we planned a practical cabinet layout with a tall unit, Rubine hob, hood and oven integration, BLUM drawer system and DTC soft-closing hinges for better daily performance. The sintered stone countertop was selected for durability, stain resistance and a cleaner premium appearance.
For the TV cabinet, we designed a longer storage wall with a curved-edge base cabinet. This improves safety while keeping the cabinet visually clean and modern.
For wardrobes, we used a mix of casement swing-door systems and aluminium glass sliding-door systems depending on room size and access space. This allowed each room to achieve better storage capacity without forcing one design style into every area.
For the study area, the workstation cabinet was designed with overhead storage and display niches, helping the client keep books, documents and work items organised.
The completed Orchardville project in Sungai Ara, Penang delivers a practical and modern home interior with strong storage function. The kitchen is clean and efficient, the TV cabinet provides generous hidden storage, the wardrobes are customised for each room, and the study area supports daily work and learning.
