Enteca 0.5mg Tablets are used for the treatment of:
Chronic Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Infection in adults with:
Compensated liver disease
Evidence of viral replication
Histologically documented active liver inflammation or fibrosis
It is also effective in patients with decompensated cirrhosis.
Dosage:
For nucleoside-naïve adults: 0.5 mg once daily
For lamivudine or telbivudine-resistant chronic hepatitis B: 1 mg once daily
For decompensated liver disease: 1 mg once daily
Administration:
Take the tablet on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours after a meal and 2 hours before the next meal
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not chew, crush, or break
Missed Dose:
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it's almost time for the next dose; do not double the dose
Precautions:
Regular monitoring of liver function tests and hepatitis B viral markers is recommended
Discontinuation may lead to exacerbation of hepatitis B
Use with caution in patients with impaired renal function
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment
