Indications:

Based on the Malaysian Patient Information Leaflet (PIL), Utrogestan is indicated for disorders related to progesterone insufficiency in women, including:

• Menstrual irregularities (oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea)

• Benign mastopathy

• Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)

• Menopausal symptoms (used with estrogen as part of HRT)

Instructions:

According to SmPC and PIL sources:

• Dosage as HRT:

  • Standard: /200 /mg at bedtime for 12 days each cycle (Days /15–26), with possible withdrawal bleeding in the following week

  • Alternative regimen: /100 /mg nightly from Day /1 to Day /25 of each cycle to reduce frequency of bleeding

• Administration:

  • Take orally at bedtime, without food—food increases progesterone absorption and may alter effects
