An SMS Coupling (Swedish Milk Standard Coupling) is a hygienic, quick-connect fitting designed for sanitary process lines in the food, beverage, dairy, and pharmaceutical industries.
It is widely used for liquid transfer applications that require easy cleaning, high hygiene standards, and secure leak-free connections.
Main Components
Male Part – a plain-ended pipe spigot.
Female Part – a nut with an internal recess to receive the male part.
Seal – O-ring or gasket (usually EPDM, NBR, or silicone).
Connection Method
The male and female parts are brought together with a sealing gasket in between.
The threaded nut on the female part is tightened by hand to create a secure, hygienic seal.
