Indication
Adjunct therapy in adult w/ NIDDM when dietary measures, physical exercise & wt loss alone are insufficient to control blood glucose.
Instruction
Should be taken with food.
Drug interaction
Increased hypoglycaemic effect w/ miconazole, phenylbutazone. Increased hypoglycaemic reaction w/ alcohol. Potentiated blood glucose lowering effect by insulins, acarbose, biguanides, β-blockers, fluconazole, captopril, enalapril, H2-receptor antagonists, MAOIs, sulphonamides, NSAIDs. Increased blood glucose levels w/ danazol, chlorpromazine, glucocorticoids, tetracosactrin, ritodrine, salbutamol, terbutaline. Potentiated anticoagulant therapy.
