Product Overview

PowerLogic PM3000 is suitable for projects that require DIN rail-mounted metering with reliable local display and selectable communication options. It provides the main electrical measurements required to understand feeder behaviour, circuit consumption, demand, energy import / export and load patterns.

The series is useful for sub-metering and cost allocation because it supports multi-tariff energy registers, WAGES pulse collection on supported models, RS485 Modbus communication on communication variants and demand / energy logs on higher variants.

Positioning: Use PM3000 where a DIN rail Schneider Electric power meter is required for basic monitoring, cost allocation, sub-metering, energy management and IoTWatt 4.0 integration.

Why PM3000 Matters

PM3000 provides a practical DIN rail metering option for compact panels, distribution boards, tenant metering and gateway-based energy monitoring systems.

  • DIN rail format

Variant Part Numbers and Selection

Commercial Reference Model Description Main Features Recommended Use
METSEPM3200 PM3200 Basic DIN rail power meter. CT input 1A / 5A, VT input, multi-tariff, local backlit display, instantaneous values, energy values, present demand and min / max values. Basic DIN rail local metering where remote communication is not required.
METSEPM3210 PM3210 DIN rail power meter with pulse output. PM3200 functions plus pulse output for kWh pulse collection and basic external energy monitoring. Sub-metering points where simple pulse-based kWh monitoring is required.
METSEPM3250 PM3250 DIN rail power meter with RS485 port. RS485 Modbus communication, THD current and voltage, alarms with timestamping, min / max values, demand and energy monitoring. DIN rail Modbus metering for EMS, BMS, SCADA, gateway or IoTWatt 4.0 integration.
METSEPM3255 PM3255 DIN rail power meter with RS485 plus 2DI / 2DO. PM3250 functions plus 2 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, WAGES pulse collection, external status, tariff control, alarm output and kWh pulse functions. Best PM3000 variant for integrated energy monitoring, WAGES pulse collection, digital status monitoring and IoTWatt 4.0 gateway projects.
Selection note: For new IoTWatt 4.0 integration, PM3250 or PM3255 is normally preferred because RS485 Modbus provides richer live data than pulse-only monitoring. Select PM3255 when digital inputs, digital outputs, WAGES pulses or additional alarms are required.

Key Features at a Glance

DIN Rail Format Compact DIN rail design for metering panels, control panels and distribution boards.
Multi-Function Metering Measures current, voltage, power, power factor, energy and demand values.
1A / 5A CT Input Supports standard CT secondary inputs for LV and HV metering applications.
VT Input Suitable for systems requiring voltage transformer input, including HV monitoring applications.
4-Tariff Capability Separates energy consumption into four tariff registers for tariff or source-based tracking.
Backlit Display Provides local electrical parameter visibility for panel operators and maintenance teams.
RS485 Modbus Options PM3250 and PM3255 support Modbus communication for EMS, BMS, SCADA and IoTWatt 4.0.

Multi-Tariff and WAGES Monitoring

PM3000 meters support four tariff registers. Tariff switching can be controlled by digital inputs, internal clock or communication depending on the model and configuration.

Function Purpose Typical Use
4-Tariff Registers Separates kWh consumption into different tariff registers. Peak / off-peak monitoring, weekday / weekend tracking and tariff analysis.
External Tariff Control Uses a digital input or external control signal to change tariff register. PLC or utility tariff signal integration.
Internal Clock Tariff Control Uses the meter clock for scheduled tariff operation. Time-of-use tariff tracking without a communication system.
Tariff Control by Communication Allows tariff selection through Modbus on supported variants. EMS, BMS, SCADA or IoTWatt 4.0 driven tariff logic.
WAGES Pulse Collection Digital inputs can collect pulses from external utility meters. Useful on PM3255 for water, air, gas, electricity or steam pulse collection.
