Our Car DVD Player Motors are specialized DC motors engineered for the precision high-speed rotation required by automotive optical disc drives. Designed for 4.2V operation, these motors provide the stable, low-vibration performance necessary for consistent disc reading in mobile environments.
4.2V Optimized Performance: Specifically calibrated for the standard power delivery of automotive infotainment and DVD playback systems.
Precision Spindle Mount: Features a central brass spindle assembly designed for secure attachment to the disc tray or optical laser assembly.
Low-Profile Metal Casing: The compact, flattened cylindrical design allows for easy integration into the slim-profile disc drives found in modern car dashboards.
Integrated Rubber Gasket: Equipped with a pre-installed black dampening ring to absorb motor vibrations and ensure quiet, skip-free playback.
Durable Solder Points: Features high-quality internal wiring (Red and Black) for reliable power connections to the main control board.
Operating Voltage: DC 4.2V.
Motor Type: High-RPM Brushed DC Motor.
Housing Material: Galvanized steel for improved electromagnetic shielding.
Manufacturing Standard: High-precision automotive grade.
Car Multimedia Repair: The direct replacement part for failing spindle or tray motors in car DVD/CD players.
Optical Disc Drives: Suitable for a variety of slim-type external DVD players and portable media devices.
Precision Hobby Projects: Ideal for makers building miniature rotating displays or precision low-voltage kinetic art.
Robotics: Can be used as a lightweight drive motor for small-scale mobile robot prototypes requiring 4V power.
Why does my car player say "No Disc" even though the motor is spinning? While a spinning motor is a good sign, if the motor cannot reach the exact required RPM or has too much "wobble," the laser will fail to read the disc. Replacing an aging motor with a fresh 4.2V unit often restores read stability.
Is this motor compatible with 5V systems? This motor is rated for 4.2V. While it may spin on 5V, the higher voltage can cause it to run too hot or wear out prematurely. It is best used with a voltage regulator if your source is higher than 4.2V.
Which wire is which? Standard convention for these motors is Red for Positive (+) and Black for Negative (-). Reversing them will reverse the spin direction, which will prevent a DVD player from reading the disc.
