Effective smoke control requires a "Total System" approach where fans, dampers, and architectural reservoirs work in perfect synchronization to protect occupants.
The goal is to remove smoke as fast as it is produced to maintain a "Clear Layer" for evacuation.
Mechanical Smoke Spill (10 ACH): We install high-capacity axial fans rated for 250°C for 2 hours. These fans "flush" the fire zone at a rate of 10 Air Changes Per Hour (ACH).
Atrium Smoke Exhaust: For large open volumes like hotel lobbies or malls, we calculate the smoke plume buoyancy to ensure the smoke layer stays at least 2.5 meters above the highest occupied floor.
Natural Smoke Vents (NSHEV): Roof-mounted hatches that open via heat-sensitive fusible links or fire signals, allowing hot gases to escape naturally.
To keep escape routes 100% smoke-free, we utilize Positive Pressure.
Stairwell Pressurization: We pump fresh outdoor air into stairwells to maintain a pressure of 50 Pa. This ensures that when a fire door opens, air blows out, preventing smoke from entering the exit path.
Lift Lobby Pressurization: Maintaining a slightly lower pressure (approx. 15 Pa) to create a "pressure shield" between the fire zone and the stairwell.
To prevent the HVAC ductwork from acting as a "highway" for smoke, we install specialized barriers:
Motorized Smoke Dampers: Installed at fire-rated wall penetrations, these are interlocked with the Main Fire Alarm Panel (MFAP) to snap shut instantly.
Smoke Curtains: Automated fabric barriers that drop from the ceiling to create a "Smoke Reservoir," trapping gases in a specific zone for extraction.
