High-Temperature Axial Fans:
We install fans equipped with Class H motors, certified to operate at 250°C for at least 2 hours. These are typically mounted on the roof or in dedicated plant rooms to pull smoke through the building's core.
Fire-Rated Ducting (BS 476-24):
Standard GI ducting can buckle under fire. We utilize heavy-gauge steel ducting reinforced with intumescent coatings or specialized mineral wool wraps. This ensures the smoke path remains structurally sound as it carries hot gases to the exterior.
Motorized Smoke Dampers:
At every fire-rated wall penetration, we install motorized dampers interlocked with the Main Fire Alarm Panel (MFAP). These dampers snap open in the fire zone to allow extraction while staying shut in unaffected zones to prevent smoke migration.
Make-Up Air Synchronization:
For every cubic meter of smoke exhausted, a cubic meter of fresh air must enter the building at a low level. We install motorized louvers or supply fans to prevent "Negative Pressure," which would otherwise make exit doors physically impossible to open during an evacuation.

Bypassing Protections: In an emergency, the VFD ignores all standard motor protections (over-current, thermal trips) to keep the fan running at 100% capacity until the fire is suppressed or the motor fails mechanically.
HVAC Interlock: The moment the smoke exhaust activates, our logic triggers a total shutdown of the general office air conditioning. This prevents the AC fans from accidentally mixing toxic smoke into clean floors.
