Protect your electronics and appliances from critical overheating with the industry-standard KSD301 Thermal Switch. This bimetal snap-action thermostat is designed for high-sensitivity temperature control, providing a fast and reliable electrical cut-off once your desired thermal threshold is met. Whether you are repairing a domestic appliance or building a custom industrial control system, the KSD301 offers a cost-effective, durable solution for thermal safety.
Broad Temperature Range: Available in a vast selection of trip points including 45°C, 80°C, 100°C, 150°C, and up to 216°C to match any technical requirement.
Snap-Action Performance: Utilizes a high-speed bimetal disc that ensures a clean, rapid circuit break, minimizing electrical arcing and extending component life.
Robust Construction: Features a flame-retardant phenolic or ceramic body (model dependent) for superior insulation and durability in high-heat environments.
Standard Fixed Flange Mounting: Designed with a universal aluminum mounting wing for easy attachment to flat heat-generating surfaces.
Quick-Connect Terminals: Equipped with standard 6.3mm (1/4") male spade terminals for fast, secure wiring without the need for soldering.
The KSD301 Series is the most trusted thermal protector for:
Home Appliances: Essential safety component for coffee makers, water heaters, toasters, and microwave ovens.
Industrial Equipment: Overheat protection for power supplies, welding machines, and motor housings.
HVAC Systems: Used as a limit switch for electric heaters and heat exchangers.
Office Equipment: Thermal safety for laser printers and copiers.
Circuit Type: Normally Closed (NC) - Opens on temperature rise.
Electrical Rating: Typically 250V AC / 10A.
Contact Resistance: ≤ 50mΩ.
Insulation Resistance: ≥ 100MΩ.
How do I know if I need a "Normally Closed" switch?
Most safety applications require Normally Closed (NC) switches. This means power flows normally through the switch until it hits the trip temperature, at which point it "opens" the circuit to turn the machine off for safety.
Can I replace a 100°C switch with a 120°C model?
It is highly recommended to replace a thermal switch with the exact same temperature rating. Choosing a higher temperature rating may allow your device to reach dangerous heat levels before shutting off, risking damage or fire.
Does this switch reset itself?
Yes. The KSD301 is an automatic reset thermostat. Once the device cools down significantly (usually 15°C–30°C below the trip point), the bimetal disc will snap back and close the circuit again.
