Why use 630V if my fan is only 240V?
In AC circuits, the "Peak" voltage is much higher than the "RMS" voltage. A 630V DC rating is the industrial standard for ensuring the capacitor can handle the peak spikes of a 240V AC line without failing.
Can I use this to replace a square CBB61 fan capacitor?
These are PCB-mount capacitors. If your fan uses the square box style with wires, these will work electrically if the uF value matches, but they are designed to be soldered directly onto a green circuit board.
