1.  Do I need a special crimping tool?

Yes. You need a Pass-Through Crimping Tool that automatically trims the excess wire off the front of the plug while it crimps the contacts down.

2. Can I use a CAT 6 plug on a CAT 5e cable?

Technically yes, but the internal holes in a CAT 6 plug are slightly larger. For the best "snug" fit and easiest installation, it is best to match the plug to your specific cable category.

3. Is there any signal loss with pass-through plugs?
