Indication
- Epilepsy:
- Adjunctive treatment for partial seizures, primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in adults and children aged 2 years and above.
- Conversion to monotherapy in adults with partial seizures who are on carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone, or valproate as a single antiepileptic drug.
- Bipolar Disorder:
- Maintenance treatment to delay the occurrence of mood episodes in patients with bipolar disorder.
Instructions for Use
- Dosage:
- The dosage of lamotrigine varies based on age, medical condition, and other medications being taken.
- Administration:
- Take the tablet orally with or without food.
- Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew, crush, or break it.
- To help remember, take it at the same time each day.
- Missed Dose:
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for your next dose.
- Do not take two doses at once to make up for a missed dose.
- Discontinuation:
- Do not stop taking lamotrigine without consulting your doctor, as sudden discontinuation may worsen your condition.
