I. Eligibility and Required Materials

Note: If an applicant is determined by the Chinese public security authorities to have Chinese nationality after application, admission, or enrollment, their application, admission, or enrollment will be cancelled, or they will be expelled from the school.
3.  Possess a high school diploma or above ;
4.  Applicants must be no older than 30 (applicants for the HIT scholarship must be no older than 25 ).
5. Language requirements: 
For programs taught in Chinese (excluding Chinese Language and Literature): There are no requirements for the applicant's English proficiency. Applicants need to provide proof of their HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test ) scores (new HSK Level 4 with a score of 210 or above, and valid for two years). If the applicant's compulsory courses in their previous degree were taught in Chinese, they can provide a certificate of Chinese instruction issued by their previous degree institution in lieu of HSK score proof.
For English-taught programs: There are no requirements for the applicant's Chinese proficiency. Applicants need to provide proof of English proficiency (IELTS Academic 6.0 or above (with no individual score below 5.5 ), TOEFL 80 or above , or other recognized equivalent English proficiency standards ); if the applicant's compulsory courses in their previous degree were taught in English, they can provide a certificate of English-taught instruction issued by the previous degree institution in lieu of proof of English proficiency .

6.  Applicants must take the undergraduate entrance examination for international students in China. The test results are a necessary document for the admission review. The specific time and method of taking the test will be notified separately.
 
Required application materials:
Applicants need to log in to the Harbin Institute of Technology International Student Application System to complete the online application ( Contact E-Square create account) and upload scanned copies of the following documents as required. All application materials must be in Chinese or English. For other language texts, a notarized translation must be provided.
1. A photocopy of your passport;
2. High school graduation certificate. Current graduates may provide a certificate of expected graduation, but the original or notarized copy of the high school graduation certificate must be submitted upon enrollment .
3. Transcripts for all courses taken during high school;
4. Academic performance test transcript for undergraduate admission to study in China
5. Language proficiency certificate (consistent with the language of instruction applied for);
6. The "Foreigner's Physical Examination Record" (valid for months; template attached) requires the applicant to undergo the examination strictly according to the requirements outlined in the record. Records lacking items, without a photograph of the applicant, without a seal across the photograph, or without the signatures and seals of the physician and hospital are considered invalid.
7. Certificate of no criminal record (valid for months);

8. Applicants who are under the age of 18 by September 1, 2026, must submit a notarized guardianship certificate for the minor;
9. Personal resume and personal introduction video;
10. Remittance slip for self-funded student application fee: 400 RMB / 60 USD
Applications will be considered invalid if the registration fee is not paid or if the applicant's passport number is not included in the transfer notes.
11. Proof of deposit ( financial guarantee of at least RMB 20,000 or equivalent foreign currency);
12. Supporting documents demonstrating outstanding achievements in academics, sports, arts, cultural exchanges, or public welfare activities (not mandatory) .


Important Note:
1. Applicants must ensure that their application materials are true and valid. Any falsification or malpractice will result in disqualification from application, admission, or enrollment; if such misconduct is discovered after enrollment, the applicant will be expelled.
2. Application materials must be submitted through the registration system. Materials submitted through other means will not be accepted.

IV. Language of Instruction
All undergraduate programs can be taught in Chinese , except for Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Architecture, Intelligent Medical Engineering, and Business Administration, which can be taught in English.
