Power calculation of inductive ballast_Use and installation of inductive ballast

Power calculation of inductive ballast
Inductive ballast has two losses, the sum of copper loss and iron loss is the power consumed by the ballast.
1. Calculation of copper loss power:
P=I×I×R (I=rated current of metal halide lamp, R=DC resistance of cold coil)

2. Calculation of iron loss power:
P=Vs×Y×G
(Vs=solid volume of iron core, unit: C㎡, Y=specific gravity of silicon steel sheet: 7.55g/cubic centimeter=0.00755Kg/cubic centimeter, G=specific consumption of silicon steel sheet: watt/kilogram, when the magnetic permeability of silicon steel sheet is 12000 Gauss, G=4.9 watt/kilogram)
That is: P=Vs×0.00755×4.9
Use and installation of inductive ballasts

Light source configuration:
The specifications of inductive ballasts are generally as follows (except for inductive ballasts for gas discharge lamps):
10W~65W: Suitable for fluorescent tubes and ring tubes with tube diameters of T6~T12;
4W~14W: Suitable for fluorescent tubes with tube diameters of T5;
Energy-saving lamp ballasts 5W~11W, 13W, 18W, 26W: Suitable for plug-in energy-saving tubes used in downlights.

Service life:
Inductive ballasts are strictly inspected before leaving the factory. Each ballast undergoes withstand voltage test, electrical parameter test, turn-to-turn withstand voltage test, lighting inspection test, etc., which fully guarantees that the service life of each inductive ballast reaches more than 10 years in normal use; the warranty period of inductive ballasts is two years.

Installation precautions:
① Power supply quality issues: The three-phase power supply should be as balanced as possible, and the voltage of each phase should not be too high, preferably 220V. In the early stage of installation of some projects (especially factories), the voltage is too high because the equipment installation has not been completed, which may exceed 270V. The inductive ballast may make slight noise. The installer should be reminded of such problems.

② Installation quality issues: The installer should be reminded to install the lamps according to the lamp installation diagram. If the lamps and ballasts are not installed firmly, noise will occur. The lamps and ballasts should not be installed directly on the surface of flammable bodies and in places with explosive gases, corrosive gases, liquids, and dust. It is not suitable for use in humid environments.
