Ultrasonic flowmeters mainly calculate the flow rate of a fluid by measuring the time difference of ultrasonic waves traveling downstream and upstream in the fluid, and then determine the flow volume. It uses ultrasonic probes to emit ultrasonic signals into the fluid. Some of the ultrasonic signals travel downstream, and some travel upstream. Due to the flow of the fluid, the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the downstream and upstream directions will change. By measuring this time difference, the flow velocity of the fluid can be calculated according to a specific formula. The flow velocity multiplied by the cross-sectional area of the pipeline gives the flow value.
