Introduction

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a classic thermal analysis method that measures thermal effects under controlled temperature programs. It is widely used in materials science, chemical engineering, research and development, process optimization, quality control, and failure analysis. DSC enables accurate measurement of the oxidation induction time (OIT), making it an essential tool for evaluating the oxidative stability of a broad range of materials, including plastics, rubber, coatings, food, pharmaceuticals, biological organisms, inorganic materials, metal materials, composite materials, and plastic pipes.

This method complies with the determination of oxidation induction time as specified in ISO 11357-6 (Plastics — Differential scanning calorimetry — Part 6: Determination of oxidation induction time and oxidation induction temperature).

The accompanying software adaptively supports Windows operating systems, automatically performs oxidation induction tests and temperature calibration tests, and calculates test results automatically.
