What is Zincalume® Roofing? Tough, reliable and durable, Zincalume steel is another popular roofing material. Made from zinc, aluminium and silicon, this product lasts four times longer than galvanised steel. Since its introduction in Australia in the 1970s, it has been used in many properties across the country.
ZINCALUME (and galvalume) uses a metal mix of 55% aluminum and 45% zinc. Aluminum provides an inherent protective barrier compared to zinc, which prevents the spread of corrosion. As a result, ZINCALUME combines the benefit of preferential corrosion (zinc), while slowing its spread (aluminum).
