 Installation Guide – Rubber Block & Rubber Damper for Heavy Machine Foot

Installing Rubber Dampers / Rubber Blocks correctly is crucial to ensure maximum vibration isolation, noise reduction, and machine stability.

 Tools & Materials Required

• Rubber block/damper (custom-made to machine size)
• Measuring tape / Vernier caliper
• Marker or chalk
• Wrench / spanner set
• Heavy-duty jack, forklift, or crane (depending on machine weight)
• Bolts, nuts, washers (if bolt-through design)
• Anti-slip pads / steel plates (optional for extra stability)
• Torque wrench (for precise tightening)
• Personal protective equipment (PPE): safety gloves, steel-toe boots, safety goggles

 Step 1: Preparation

1. Turn off and disconnect power to the machine.
2. Inspect the machine base – ensure it is flat, free from oil, dust, and rust.
3. Measure the mounting area and check damper/block size for compatibility.
4. Plan lifting points for the machine (use lifting hooks, forklift slots, or crane).

 Step 2: Lifting the Machine

1. Lift the machine slowly using a hydraulic jack, forklift, or crane.
2. Ensure the machine is raised evenly to avoid twisting the frame.
3. Raise only enough to create clearance for inserting the rubber blocks (usually 30–100 mm).

 Step 3: Positioning the Rubber Block

1. Place the rubber block/damper directly under each machine foot or mounting point.
2. For bolt-mounted dampers:
   • Align the bolt holes of the block with the machine base.
   • Insert bolts with washers to prevent rubber tearing.
3. For free-standing blocks:
   • Ensure the rubber block sits flat and centered under the machine foot.
   • Optional: Place a steel plate above/below the block for heavy machines.

 Step 4: Securing the Block/Damper

1. Bolt-mounted type:
   • Insert bolts through the block and tighten evenly.
   • Use a torque wrench to avoid over-tightening (which may crush the rubber).
2. Free-standing type:
   • Carefully lower the machine until full weight rests on the rubber blocks.
   • Ensure equal load distribution across all blocks.
