Step-by-Step DIY Installation Method
Step 1: Measure and Prepare the Area

- Cut the Mounting Track: Using a hacksaw, cut the galvanised steel track to a length that matches the width (W) of your doorway.
- Cut the PVC Strips (if not pre-cut): If you bought a full roll, lay it flat and use a sharp utility knife and a straight edge to cut the strips to the correct height (H). Leave a little extra (e.g., 25-50mm) if you want the strips to brush the floor for a better seal.
Step 2: Mark and Drill Pilot Holes
- Hold the Track in Place: Position the cut track securely along the top of the doorway. Use your spirit level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. An unlevel track will cause gaps in your curtain.
- Mark the Screw Points: Mark the drilling points through the holes in the track onto the wall or lintel.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Remove the track and drill pilot holes at your marks. If drilling into concrete or brick, insert wall plugs.
Step 3: Secure the Mounting Track
- Align the Track: Place the track back over the pilot holes.
- Screw it In Place: Secure the track firmly using your screws and drill. Ensure it is tight and does not wobble. For very wide doorways (over 2 meters), consider adding an extra support bracket in the center to prevent sagging.

- Start from One End: Begin at one end of the track and gently push the top of a PVC strip up into the channel.

- Repeat the Process: Install the next strip, ensuring it overlaps the previous one by about 25-50mm. This overlap is critical for creating an effective barrier.
- Continue: Repeat this process until the entire track is filled with overlapping strips.

- Check the Overlap: Run your hand down the seams to ensure the strips are overlapping correctly and hanging freely.
- Test the Movement: Walk through the curtain several times. The strips should part easily and then fall back into place, creating a complete seal.
