A stainless steel braided hose is a flexible metal hose assembly consisting of a corrugated stainless steel inner core, reinforced externally with a stainless steel braid. It is designed to handle high pressure, temperature extremes, and corrosive environments, providing durability and flexibility where rigid piping cannot be used.
Material Construction
Inner Core: Corrugated stainless steel (usually SS304 or SS316) for excellent corrosion resistance.
Outer Braid: Single or double layers of stainless steel wire braid to increase pressure resistance and prevent elongation.
Pressure Range
Working pressures typically range from 50 psi up to 3,000 psi depending on diameter and braid layers.
Temperature Range
–200 °C to +600 °C (–328 °F to +1112 °F) depending on design and application.
Flexibility
Absorbs vibration, compensates for thermal expansion/contraction, and allows routing in tight spaces.
Industrial Fluid Transfer
Conveying steam, hot water, oil, gas, and chemicals.
High-Temperature Systems
Boiler connections, heat exchangers, and steam distribution lines.
Cryogenic Applications
Liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and other low-temperature fluids.
Excellent corrosion resistance in aggressive environments.
High strength-to-weight ratio compared to rubber hoses.
Long service life under continuous use.
Resists kinking while allowing flexibility.
Handles both vacuum and pressure conditions.
Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
Flexible connections in hydraulic equipment.
Food & Beverage / Pharmaceutical
When fitted with sanitary ends for hygienic applications.
Marine & Offshore
Ship engine rooms, fuel lines, and exhaust connections.
