Glimepiride 2 /mg – a sulfonylurea agent that increases insulin secretion;
Metformin HCl 500 /mg SR – a biguanide that improves insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose production
For use in type 2 diabetes mellitus when blood glucose control is inadequate with diet, exercise, and monotherapy with either glimepiride or metformin alone.
Also suitable as a replacement for separate combination therapy with glimepiride and metformin
Administration: Take once daily with food, preferably immediately before or during breakfast (first main meal) to help minimise gastrointestinal side effects and enhance absorption.
Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet — swallow whole with water
Consistency: Use at the same time each day. Do not abruptly stop the medication without medical advice; dosage and duration based on glycemic response and physician's instructions.
