Tritace is indicated for:
Hypertension (high blood pressure) — as monotherapy or with other antihypertensives
Congestive heart failure — adjunct to diuretics and/or digitalis
Post-myocardial infarction — to reduce the risk of death
Reduction of cardiovascular risk in patients at high risk of heart events (e.g. stroke, MI)
Diabetic nephropathy or renal disease — especially in type 2 diabetes with hypertension
Hypertension (initial): Start with 1.25–2.5 mg once daily
Maintenance dose: Can be adjusted up to 10 mg daily (given once or in 2 divided doses) depending on patient response and comorbidities
Elderly or renally impaired: Start lower (e.g. 1.25 mg) and titrate cautiously
Dosage must be individualized by a healthcare provider depending on kidney function, BP response, and concurrent medications.
Taken once daily, with or without food
Swallow tablet whole with water
Should be taken at the same time each day
