A Broadband Termination Unit (BTU) is a device installed inside your home that connects your premises to the TM Access Network (TM Exchange).
Its main function is similar to a modem — it converts the light signals transmitted through fibre optic cables into electrical signals that your home network can use.
TM uses two types of BTU, depending on the type of premises:
Designed for landed houses with direct fibre access.
Installed in apartments, condominiums, and other high-rise buildings.
Both BTU types support internet and telephone services through the back panel.
Every BTU comes with:
2 × Phone Ports (RJ11)
Only one telephone line is provided with a UniFi subscription.
4 × Internet Ports (RJ45)
Connect to your router, mesh nodes, or other network equipment.
This setup allows stable fibre connectivity for both internet and VoIP telephone services.
✨ UniFi Fibre Broadband Free Equipment Warranty: Lifetime
Your BTU and related fibre equipment are covered for as long as you remain a UniFi subscriber.
