Overview

The KAAS Static Pass Box is designed for transferring small items, samples, tools and production materials between cleanrooms and adjacent less-clean or uncontrolled areas.

By allowing items to pass through a dedicated transfer chamber, the pass box helps reduce the frequency of opening cleanroom access doors and limits direct air exchange between both areas.

The chamber can be configured with either a mechanical interlock or an electrical interlock, preventing both doors from being opened at the same time. Stainless-steel or powder-coated construction options are available, together with standard and customised chamber sizes.

How the Static Pass Box Works

1. The operator opens the loading-side door.

2. The item is placed inside the chamber.

3. The loading-side door is closed.

4. The interlock prevents the opposite door from opening at the same time.

5. The receiving-side door is released.

6. The item is removed from the chamber.

7. The receiving-side door is closed before the next transfer cycle.

The pass box acts as a controlled transfer point and helps minimise direct communication between clean and non-clean areas.
