In the tropical heat of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, cooling large-volume spaces like warehouses, exhibition halls, and factories presents a major M&E challenge. Because these areas have massive "Solar Heat Gain" and high ceilings, traditional air conditioning is often physically ineffective or financially unsustainable.
EKG M&E Sdn Bhd specializes in engineering hybrid cooling strategies that prioritize high-volume airflow and building physics over raw refrigerant power.
High-Volume, Low-Speed (HVLS) fans are the foundation of large-space cooling.
The Process: In Malaysia’s climate, hot air traps itself at the ceiling (stratification). The HVLS fan pushes this heat downward to be exhausted, creating a "perceived cooling" effect of 3°C to 5°C through evaporative cooling on the skin.
Efficiency: A single 7.3m fan can replace dozens of small floor fans while consuming less than 2.2kW of power.
For facilities that need a physical temperature drop without the CAPEX of a Chiller system.
The Process: Hot outside air is pulled through water-saturated cooling pads. As the water evaporates, it absorbs sensible heat from the air, discharging it into the space at a significantly lower temperature.
M&E Requirement: This requires a constant Fresh Air Supply and high-volume exhaust to prevent humidity buildup.
As an HVAC and Clean Air Specialist, we treat the building as a living "lung."
Positive Pressure Shield: We calibrate the system to maintain a slight Positive Pressure. This physically prevents humid "unconditioned" air and KL street dust from leaking in through loading bays and doors.
VFD Optimization: We integrate Variable Frequency Drives (VSD/VFD) into all fan motors. This allows the system to ramp up during peak afternoon heat and slow down at night, eliminating "Inrush Current" and slashing TNB electricity bills.
| Feature | Standard Wall Fans | EKG M&E Hybrid Cooling |
| Temperature Drop | None (Just moves hot air). | 3°C - 8°C (Perceived/Actual). |
| Energy Efficiency | Low (Multiple small motors). | High (VFD Optimized). |
| Humidity Control | Poor. | Active (Constant Air Exchange). |
| Maintenance | High (Disposable fans). | Scheduled (Industrial Assets). |
Thermal Mapping: We perform a professional Cubic Meters per Hour (CMH) calculation and heat-load analysis to prove your facility is receiving the designed airflow.
Total System Integration: We ensure your cooling assets are interlocked with the Fire Alarm (BOMBA) system for emergency smoke spill control.
Strategic Support: Based in Kuala Lumpur, we provide turnkey design and scheduled maintenance for logistics hubs, manufacturing plants, and commercial complexes.
