In the tropical climate of KL and Selangor, industrial warehouse cooling is a major M&E challenge. Because warehouses have massive internal volumes and high "Solar Heat Gain" through the roof, standard air conditioning is often physically impossible or financially unsustainable. EKG M&E Sdn Bhd specializes in engineering high-efficiency cooling strategies that move massive air volumes while keeping TNB electricity costs under control.
As an HVAC and Clean Air Specialist, we move away from "refrigerant-heavy" cooling and focus on building physics and high-volume airflow.
High-Volume, Low-Speed (HVLS) fans are the foundation of warehouse cooling.
The Process: In a typical Malaysian warehouse, hot air traps itself at the ceiling. The HVLS fan pushes this heat downward to be exhausted, creating a "perceived cooling" effect of 3°C to 5°C through evaporative cooling on the skin.
Coverage: One 7.3m fan can cover up to 20,000 sq. ft., replacing dozens of small, noisy floor fans.
For facilities that need a physical temperature drop without the cost of a Chiller.
The Process: Hot outside air is pulled through water-saturated cooling pads. As the water evaporates, it absorbs heat from the air, discharging it into the warehouse at a significantly lower temperature.
Efficiency: These units consume up to 80% less energy than standard AC units but require a constant Fresh Air Supply to prevent humidity buildup.
We utilize the "Stack Effect" to pull heat out of the building naturally.
Gravity Ridge Vents & Powered Extractors: We install continuous vents at the roof's peak. As hot air rises and escapes, it pulls cooler air in through low-level louvers, creating a natural "convection current."
A cooling system is only as effective as the control logic behind it. We focus on total system synchronization:
Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Modulation:
We integrate VSD/VFDs into all fan and pump motors. This allows the system to ramp up during the peak heat of the afternoon and slow down during the night shift, eliminating "Inrush Current" and slashing electricity bills.
Building Pressure Management:
To keep your inventory clean and dry, we calibrate the system to maintain a slight Positive Pressure. This physically prevents KL street dust and humid outside air from "leaking" in through loading bays and doors.
Humidity & Moisture Control:
By maintaining constant air movement, we prevent "Sweaty Slab Syndrome" (condensation on concrete floors), which is a major safety hazard in logistics environments.
| Feature | Standard Wall Fans | EKG M&E Hybrid Cooling |
| Temperature Drop | None (Just moves hot air). | 3°C - 8°C (Perceived/Actual). |
| Energy Efficiency | Low (Many small motors). | High (VFD Optimized). |
| Humidity Control | Poor. | Active (Constant Air Exchange). |
| Maintenance | High (Disposable fans). | Scheduled (Industrial Assets). |
Thermal Mapping and Audits: We perform a professional Cubic Meters per Hour (CMH) calculation and heat-load analysis to prove your warehouse is receiving the designed airflow.
Total System Integration: We ensure your cooling assets are interlocked with the Fire Alarm (BOMBA) system for emergency smoke spill control.
Klang Valley Strategic Support: Based in Kuala Lumpur, we provide turnkey design, structural mounting, and scheduled maintenance for logistics hubs, manufacturing plants, and cold storage.
