The Bronze Striped Snake, more commonly known as the Painted Bronzeback, is a sleek, hyper-active diurnal snake. As the name suggests, the top of its back is a metallic bronze color, while the sides feature bold black stripes bordering a cream or yellow lateral line. When agitated or taking a breath, they can reveal spectacular bright blue or turquoise skin between their scales, flashing a hidden splash of color. They have large eyes adapted for spotting fast-moving prey.
Notes Husbandry: This is a high-energy species that requires space to roam. They are strictly arboreal and active during the day. They are extremely fast and flighty, often difficult to handle without them zooming off. Best suited for large naturalistic terrariums where their hunting behavior can be observed.
Why Source This Species:
Active Display: Unlike nocturnal snakes that hide all day, Bronzebacks are active, alert, and constantly exploring during viewing hours.
Budget Friendly: At a low price point ($9), they are excellent entry-level display animals for educators or hobbyists wanting a "lizard-eating" snake.
Flash Colors: The hidden blue skin that appears when they inflate their bodies adds a unique visual surprise element.
