SS316L Stainless Steel Tubing is a high-grade, low-carbon stainless steel tube known for excellent corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides and acidic environments.
The low carbon content (“L” grade) improves weldability and reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, making it ideal for critical applications in chemical processing, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, and marine environments.
Grade: SS316L (UNS S31603)
Composition Highlights:
Chromium: ~16–18%
Nickel: ~10–14%
Molybdenum: ~2–3% (for enhanced pitting resistance)
Low Carbon: ≤0.03% (prevents sensitization during welding)
Corrosion Resistance: Superior to SS304, especially in chloride-rich and acidic environments.
Finish Options: Bright annealed, polished, pickled, or custom finishes.
Outer Diameter (OD): 1/8" to 4" (3.18 mm – 101.6 mm) standard; larger sizes available.
Wall Thickness: 0.28 mm to 5 mm (custom on request).
Standards: ASTM A269, ASTM A213, ASTM A312, EN 10216-5, JIS G3459.
Length: Straight lengths (6 m typical) or coiled tubing (up to 100 m+).
Pressure Rating: Depends on size, wall thickness, and temperature.
Temperature Range: –196 °C to +800 °C.
