Description
- SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) Flooring
SPC flooring is actually a form of vinyl. SPC means Stone Plastic Composite, and the name has to do with the composition of the core. Simply put, flooring this class has a rigid core, which makes it an excellent choice for high-traffic areas in your home. SPC is similar to luxury vinyl flooring in how it’s constructed.
Laminate flooring (also called floating wood tile in the United States) is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process. Laminate flooring simulates wood (or sometimes stone) with a photographic appliqué layer under a clear protective layer. The inner core layer is usually composed of melamine resin and fibre board materials. Laminate flooring has grown significantly in popularity, perhaps because it may be easier to install and maintain than more traditional surfaces such as hardwood flooring. It may also have the advantages of costing less and requiring less skill to install than alternative flooring materials. It is reasonably durable, hygienic (several brands contain an antimicrobial resin), and relatively easy to maintain.
Vinyl flooring provides softer underfoot and more slip resistant features to help users reduce the risk of falling and possibly hurting themselves. Vinyl floor is more resistant to absorbing cold and heat than tile and stone floor, making it a more kid and pet friendly floorcovering solution. Vinyl flooring is also more hygienic than tile and stone floor because of its impervious layer. This means bacteria and germs have nowhere to hide.
Wood decking / flooring is any product manufactured from timber that is designed for use as flooring either structural or aesthetic. Wood is a common choice as a flooring material and can come in various styles, colours, cuts, and species. In architecture, a deck is a flat surface capable of supporting weight, similar to a floor, but typically constructed outdoors, often elevated from the ground, and usually connected to a building. The term is a generalization from the deck of a ship.
- WPC (Wood Plastic Composites) Decking
Wood–plastic composites (WPCs) are composite materials made of wood fibre/wood flour and thermoplastic(s) such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or polylactic acid (PLA). In addition to wood fibre and plastic, WPCs can also contain other ligno-cellulosic and/or inorganic filler materials. WPCs are a subset of a larger category of materials called natural fibre plastic composites (NFPCs), which may contain no cellulose-based fibre fillers such as pulp fibres, peanut hulls, coffee husk, bamboo, straw, digestate, etc. Chemical additives provide for integration of polymer and wood flour (powder) while facilitating optimal processing conditions.
