Description

How to Choose Spanjaard CDF in Malaysia

TL;DR: Choose Spanjaard CDF PTFE dry film lubricant spray supplier Malaysia to prevent moisture attraction in humid manufacturing plants. This anti stick mould release agent for polycarbonate moulding perfectly meets -20 °C to 270 °C  specifications. Apply resin bonded PTFE coating 8 micron thickness for clean, heat-resistant surface protection.

Features

The product forms an opaque white, dry lubricating film upon application. It provides dry lubrication in dusty conditions, preventing airborne particles from contaminating moving parts. The resin-bonded layer adheres to prepared surfaces to provide a low-friction, non-staining, and non-toxic barrier. The coating remains stable across extreme thermal variations without melting or running. It functions as a surface separator that is totally resistant to water, solvents, and industrial chemicals. It isolates substrate surfaces to provide a protective coating resistant to nearly all acids (including nitric acid) and alkali.

Applications

This dry film lubricant is designed for low load-carrying applications where the use of a conventional wet lubricant is undesirable. It provides effective dry lubrication in dusty conditions and is ideal for the food, paper, plastics, textile, and wood industries. Specific industrial and maintenance applications include curtain rail and drawer roller lubrication, sliding tracks, and light-duty mechanisms. It also serves as a release agent and anti-stick coating in the moulding of polycarbonates, such as telephone casings.

Do not use this product for high rubbing pressures or heavy-duty load-carrying mechanical components.

Why This Works

The formulation utilizes very fine particles of PTFE dispersed in a resin-bonded matrix. Upon application, the carrier solvent evaporates, leaving a completely dry coating that lacks the surface tackiness of fluid oils or greases, which prevents dust accumulation in harsh plant environments. The solid PTFE matrix exhibits excellent release and anti-stick properties by significantly reducing surface friction. Because the resin matrix cures completely at room temperature or through heat acceleration, it develops high-adhesion protection that isolates metal parts from chemical degradation, resisting water, solvents, alkali, and strong acids like nitric acid.

Who This Is Suitable For / Not Suitable For

This product is suitable for maintenance engineers, plant operators, facility managers, and plastic injection moulding technicians requiring clean, non-staining surface lubrication or effective mould release properties. It is appropriate for operations in high-humidity climates where wet oils or greases would collect atmospheric moisture and dust, creating abrasive sludges.

This product is not suitable for heavy industrial gearboxes, high-load bearings, or heavy manufacturing assemblies experiencing extreme rubbing pressures. It is also not suitable for applications requiring a completely transparent layer, as the cured dry film is opaque white.

How to Use

  1. Thoroughly clean and degrease the component to be treated, preferably with a solvent-based cleaner such as Spanjaard Lectro-Kleen or a suitable equivalent.

  2. For enhanced bonding and extended service life, pre-treat the surface via phosphating or grit blasting after degreasing.

  3. Shake the aerosol can vigorously for one full minute after the internal agitator balls are free.

  4. Hold the aerosol can at a distance of 20cm from the dry target surface.

  5. Apply one or more thin layers of CDF by a single pass from the aerosol spray to achieve an accurate ±8µ film thickness.

  6. Allow 5 to 10 minutes of drying time for each coat before applying subsequent layers for greater surface protection.

  7. Allow the final coating to cure at room temperature for 24 hours or bake at 200°C for one hour before subjecting parts to mechanical service.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Over-spraying or close-range application: Spraying closer than 20cm causes pooling, uneven resin film formation, and runs.

  • Inadequate flash-off time: Failing to allow 5 to 10 minutes of drying time between multiple coats compromises the adhesion and integrity of the final thickness.

  • Insufficient agitation: Failing to shake the can for one full minute after the agitator balls are free results in an uneven dispersion of the PTFE particles during spraying.

  • Eliminating the curing window: Subjecting parts to operating movements prior to the full 24-hour room temperature cure or 1-hour thermal cure causes premature shearing of the coating.

Safety & Compliance

This product is classified as an extremely flammable aerosol contained within a pressurized vessel. Protect the container from direct sunlight and do not expose it to ambient storage temperatures exceeding 50°C. Keep the canisters away from heat, sparks, open flames, hot surfaces, and strictly prohibit smoking during handling. Do not pierce or burn the container, even when empty. Do not breathe the generated vapor, and ensure application occurs exclusively in well-ventilated areas. Keep out of reach of children.

FAQ

What is the difference between Spanjaard CDF and Spanjaard ADF? Spanjaard CDF is a dry PTFE lubricant engineered for low load-carrying, clean, non-staining applications and mould release. Spanjaard ADF incorporates MoS2 (Molybdenum Disulfide) and is designed specifically to handle high rubbing pressures.

Can this dry lubricant handle highly corrosive plant environments? Yes, the fully cured film provides a durable protective coating completely resistant to water, most industrial solvents, alkali, and nearly all acids, including nitric acid.

How long must the product dry between separate coats? You must allow 5 to 10 minutes of drying time for each thin layer before applying the next coat over it.

Does this film require heat to cure completely? No, the resin-bonded film completely cures at ambient room temperature within 24 hours, though it can optionally be force-cured at 200°C for one hour.
